Standards This is the official site of the Employment
Standards Branch (ESB). The ESB administers the Employment
Standards Act and Regulation, which set minimum standards
of wages and working conditions in most workplaces in
British Columbia.
Human
Rights Protection The Human Rights Code protects British
Columbians from discrimination in employment, services,
and accommodations. This site provides an extensive review
of the Human Rights Code and its application.
Personal
Information Protection The Personal Information Protection
Act sets out how the private sector and not-for-profit
organizations may collect, use and disclose information
about individuals. This is the official government website.
WorkSafe BC WorkSafeBC monitors compliance with the provincial Occupational Health and Safety Regulation. In the event of work-related injuries or diseases, WorkSafeBC provides services including return-to-work rehabilitation, compensation and health care benefits. All companies with employees, large or small, must register with WorkSafeBC for coverage.
